Joe Wilburn Prewitt, 84, died March 4, 2014 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm Thursday, March 6, 2014 and 9am on Friday, March 7, 2014 followed by a chapel service at 10:00 am all at Wright and Ferguson in Clinton. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm Friday at Old Lebanon Presbyterian Church cemetery in Ackerman.

Joe was born April 20, 1929 in Choctaw County. He retired from Magnolia Federal Bank. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Joe was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who put the happiness of his family above all else.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie his sisters, Willo Dean Clayton and Jewell Cobb. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Williamson Matt of Clinton his son Stan Prewitt Donna of Clinton and his grandchildren, Reed, Kaylan and Kyndal Prewitt and his brothers, James Prewitt of Kosciusko and Bobby Prewitt of Ackerman.
