Joann
Williams
July 2, 1935 – October 24, 2022
Joann Williams, 87, of Clinton, MS, beloved mother, wife, sister, and aunt, passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of October 24th, 2022. Joann was born the fourth child to C.H. and Hazel Lambert in Wesson, MS, lifelong members of the Nazarene Church. In 1956, she and the handsome Sidney Williams married: the two welcomed a son, Karl. Joann and Sidney traveled the world together, living in Japan and Hawaii, before finally settling in Clinton, MS. There they built a home and grew old together. The later years of Joann's life were spent with her extended family and dear sisters, a group termed "The Golden Girls", doting on and cooking for the family she loved. We will miss her spunk, her laughter, her amazing chicken and dumplings, but we will find peace in knowing she is once again with the husband who loved her dearly and whom she missed so much.
Joann is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert "Sidney" Williams; son, Karl A. Williams (wife, Johanna- survivor); step-son Sidney A. Williams (wife, Glennis- survivor); her parents, C.H. and Hazel Lambert; brothers: Rev. Donald R. Lambert (wife, Katherine- survivor), Jewel D. Lambert (wife, Deborah-survivor), Kenneth W. Lambert (wife, Kaye-deceased); Sisters: Netta F. Lambert, Brenda K. Puckett (husband, Sidney-deceased). She is survived by her brother: Rev. Charles H. Lambert Jr. (wife, Bonnie) of Jacksonville, TX: Sisters, Leila McLemore (husband, Clinton- deceased) of Jackson, MS, and Hilda Findley (husband, Lee- deceased) of Clinton, MS: Brothers in law: Marion Williams (wife-Shirley) of Athens, AL; David Williams (wife-Beth) of Tucson, AZ; Rev. Don Williams (wife, Jorene) of Brandon, MS; and a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews extending at least three generations.
A memorial service will be held on 11 o'clock am, Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, of Clinton with visitation one hour prior.
