Jo Nell Young Ingram, 79, died Saturday, September 16, 2017, following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2017, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi. Services will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 11:00am at Wright and Ferguson with visitation one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at Campground United Methodist Church in Louisville, Mississippi, at 3:30pm.
Mrs. Ingram was a graduate of Noxapater High School and attended East Central Junior College. She eventually moved to Jackson, MS, where she met the love of her life and husband of nearly 59 years, George E. (Gene) Ingram. She retired from her career outside the home as Manager of Retouching at School Pictures, Inc. Mrs. Ingram enjoyed caring for her home and family, tending her flowers, her Sunday School Class and WMU at Parkway Baptist Church, and especially visiting with friends over coffee. She most recently attended First Baptist Church in Raymond, MS, as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James S. Young and Mary W. Young and her only brother, Bobby W. Young, all of Noxapater, MS.
Mrs. Ingram is survived by her husband Gene Ingram of Byram, MS, two sons, Rick (Lisa) Ingram of Vicksburg, MS, and Jay (Laura) Ingram of Asheville, NC; grandchildren Tyler Ingram and Erin Ingram of Vicksburg, MS; Jordan (Kaitlyn) Ingram of Petal, MS; Cody, Jacob, and Miriam Ingram all of Asheville, NC; and great-granddaughter Hadlee Grace Ingram of Petal, MS.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Briar Hill Nursing and Rehab and Sta-Home Health and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital, or the Missions Fund of Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton, MS.
