Jimmie Lavelle Sellers, 79, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in Raymond, MS. He is preceded in death by his father Walter Sellers, mother Mamie Lee, and brother Glen Sellers. He is survived by his brother, Terry Sellers of Milwaukie, OR., his wife and highschool sweetheart of 57 years, Shirley Ashley Sellers, and his five children; Paul Sellers (fiance Brandi), Beth Dillard, Sharon Clayton (Husband Robert), John Sellers (wife Amanda), and Sarah Guinn (husband Ray). He has 18 grandchildren and 20 plus great grandchildren.
He is a veteran of the US Army where he served 3 years here in the states and in Germany. He was a graduate of Hinds Community College and did some work at MS. College. He was an ordained bi-vocational minister that preached at various small churches in his early years. He and his wife served four years as missionaries at Friends of Alcholics (FOA) in Jackson, Ms. He was a faithful servant to the Lord first and then a servant to his family. He was a member of Highpointe Baptist Church for 6 years. His relaxation and passion was fishing. He taught all of his children and grandchildren to love the outdoors.
