Jim T. Beck was born on October 18, 1943, to Jim and Louella Beck in Webb, MS.  He was the sixth of sixteen children.  He grew up in Eupora, MS.  After graduating from high school and Mississippi State University, Jim became a part of the Business Enterprise Program of Mississippi Rehabilitation for the Blind, where he served for over 50 years.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jones Coleman Beck; parents, Jim T. Beck, Sr. and Louella Welch Beck; brothers, Calvin Beck, David Beck, Bobby Beck, and Eugene Beck; sisters, Pearl Kirksey, Jamie Springer, Peggy Holland, and Linda Beck; grandson, Brandon Coleman; and great grandson, Jonathan Dover.

He is survived by four sons, Denver Coleman (Carol), Bill Coleman (Susan), James Coleman (Shirley), and Lee Coleman (Tammie); brothers, Jerry Beck, Ronnie Beck (Bonnie), and Ricky Beck (Carolyn); sisters, Kathy Beck and Shirley Gore; grandchildren, Cayce Willis (Wes), Eva Logan (Mike), Kincade Coleman (Justeen), Cullen Coleman, Adam Coleman (Emily), Steven Coleman (Heather), Ethan Coleman (Chelsea), and Matthew Coleman; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Yazoo City where he loved serving as a greeter.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 11:00 am following a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 at Benton Baptist Church with Pastor Whit Holmes presiding.  Interment will follow in the Benton Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Adam Coleman, Caleb Coleman, Matthew Coleman, David Lipsey, Peyton Lipsey, and Carl Lipsey.
