Jerry Lavell Moore, 81, passed away to his heavenly home on December 14, 2020 at St. Dominic Hospital due to complications of Covid-19. Visitation will be held in December 17, 2020 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, Clinton, MS from 11:30-1:30. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, MS.

Mr. Moore was born on August 28, 1939 to Carrie and Dewey Moore in Lena, MS. He moved to Jackson, MS as a teenager where he graduated from Provine High School in 1957 and attended Jackson Commercial Business College. Upon graduating, he was employed by 3M National Advertising for 38 years and after retirement he started a business of his own in outdoor advertising and was still working.

If you knew Jerry, you knew his love for old cars....restoring them, racing them, and showing his grandson and car buddies how to do it. His love's were corvettes and his well known 1957 Chevrolet. He loved fishing and spending time with his family and only two grandsons. Jerry would spend a good portion of his day on the telephone with his cherished Christian brothers talking about Jesus and his word. Above all of this, Jerry's love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, studying God's word every single day, and sharing Paul's gospel of the Grace of God was the most important thing in his life. He never wanted to leave one stone unturned in making absolutely sure everyone knew the Lord and where they would spend eternity.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margie Moore; his son Brad (Michelle) Moore of Brandon, MS; daughter, Tammy McCardle of Pearl, MS; sisters, Sue Weaver of Pearl, MS and Nelda (Lawrence) Felts of Pearl, MS; two grandsons, Taylor McCardle of Hazlehurst, MS and Brady McCardle of Hazlehurst, MS; one nephew, two nieces and one great nephew.
