Mr. Jerald Davis Ball, 78, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, at St. Dominic Hospital.
Visitation is 10 am Monday, April 30, 2018 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Flowood, MS; chapel services are at 11:00 am with interment in Louin Cemetery, Louin, MS.
Mr. Ball was born January 24, 1940. He was employed by Belhaven College, and Mississippi State Hospital where he served as Volunteer Coordinator. He was active after retirement with various organizations including Mississippi State Hospital Friends Organization, of which he was a charter member, Kentucky Colonels and a life deacon at First Baptist Church, Jackson where he was pianist for the 5 year old Sunday school for more than 25 years. He also served his country in the Army Reserves. Mr. Ball loved his two grandchildren, traveling, buying china and laughing with and talking to friends/strangers. He loved his family and especially enjoyed a close loving relationship with the Thigpen children, Judy (Richard) Stevens, Ken (Chris) and Bobby (Sue).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Lee Ball and Mittie Frances Ball; brother, David Ball; sisters Myrtle (Robert) Nations and Doris Marie (Ed) Thigpen; and niece, Debbie Driscoll.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Ball; and son, Jason Davis Ball of London, England; two grandchildren, Anna and Sebastian both of London, England; daughter-in-law, Maria Jose Monto of London, England; sister-in-law, Mildred Ball; nephews Steve (Mitzie) Nations; Bobby (Sue) Thigpen, Ken (Chris) Thigpen and nieces Judy (Richard) Stevens, Beverly (Martin) Taylor, Gena (Bobby) Irby of Satsuma, AL; Nita Ball and Jacque (Paul) Faulk of Loxly, AL.
