Nance
March 10, 1944 – February 20, 2024
Jenny Ford Nance, age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in hospice care at Anderson's Hospital in Meridian. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Marwood "Woody" Nance, Sr., her parents, Chet and Justine Ford, her in-laws, Percy and Dollie Nance; sister, Bette Perry Posey, brothers-in-law, Bernard Perry and Bobby Posey, and niece, Allison Perry. She is survived by her children: Jason and Jennifer Nance Rogers, Woody and Melanie Nance, Bill Nance, and Scott and Cindi Nance; her grandchildren, Kerri (Curtis) Nance Utroska, Dusty (Nicole) Nance, Cole Nance, and Anna Scott Nance; and great grandchildren, Landon, Grant and Caroline Utroska and Nolan and Emery Jane Nance; niece, Meredith Perry (Nic) Massey and nephew Jason (Ashley) Perry; great niece Alli Grace Perry and great-nephew Brayden Massey, and a host of cousins and multitude of friends.
Jenny was born on March 10, 1944, in Neshoba County where she spent her childhood growing up at Ford Brothers Store. She attended elementary school at East Neshoba, and she graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1962. She graduated from East Central Community College in 1964. She moved to Jackson a few years later and worked for Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company in Policy Service for over 30 years. Upon retirement, she worked at College Cleaners part time, where she loved visiting with her customers.
Jenny was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clinton. She was the epitome of a southern Mamaw: a great cook, loved to sew and quilt, and baked buttermilk pound cakes for her many friends and family. In Jenny's world, there were two seasons: getting ready for Christmas and getting ready for the Neshoba County Fair. Jenny was rich in love with family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 9:30 - 11am before the service at 11 am First United Methodist Church, Clinton, MS.
