Jeffrey Baron Courtney Keefe died at his home in Alexandria, Louisiana on November 4, 2022 at the age of 67.  He was a beloved son, brother, Uncle Wuff, and friend.

Born May 12, 1955, in Meadville, Mississippi to Gayle Martin Courtney and the late Fred Dawson Courtney, Jeff spent much of his childhood between his grandparents' farm in the countryside of Raymond, Mississippi and his family home in Alexandria, Louisiana.  Grammar school brought two lifelong favorites to Jeff's life – the Beatles and the Saints.  To know Jeff was to know his love of both!

Jeff graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1973.  He attended USL in Lafayette after high school where he focused his studies on his love of theater and the performing arts.  During his college years, Jeff developed a love for collecting friends, traveling the world and making music as one of "The Inept Brothers."

As an adult, Jeff worked his way up in the hotel industry from doorman to General Manager.  After a busy and fulfilling 20-year career in 4-star establishments from New Orleans to Baltimore, Jeff retired from hotels and once again became a door man, opening a craft door-making business in Raymond.

Jeff was preceded in death by his biological father, Fred Dawson Courtney, and his adoptive father, James Edward Keefe.

He is survived by his mother, Gayle Martin Keefe; his sisters, Karen Courtney Keefe Henry and Gayle Marie Keefe Monroe (Tim); and his brother, James Edward Keefe, Jr.  He is also survived by his nephew, Beau Henry (Anna); and nieces, Courtney Henry Workmon (Charlie) and Katie Henry Zumo (Luke); as well as their many children.

A family graveside service will be held in Raymond, Mississippi on November 21, 2022 under the care of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home.
