He retired from the Hinds County Sheriff Department, where he was a Deputy for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Margaret Hammond, two sons Jeff Hammond and Charles Hammond, 3 grandchildren Jacobe, Bryce, Ryker and three brothers Donald Hammond, Douglas Hammond and Arthur Hammond.
