Emma (Dolly) Jean Skates Warren moved to her home in heaven on March 12, 2026. She was born on March 3, 1932, to George Washington Skates, Jr., and Thelma Louise (Fannie) Bankston Skates. She was next to the second youngest of nine children that Mr. and Mrs. Skates were blessed with.

Dolly was beautiful and a lover of life and fun. True to her nickname, she always dressed in the height of fashion, with dimples and a smile that would light up the room. Her laugh was infectious and drew others in to enjoy the moment with her.

She was a devoted homemaker with a special talent for designing and decorating a beautiful home. She loved her family more than anything and was so proud of each of them.

Later in life, Dolly also enjoyed working at Morrison Heights Day Care, first as a caregiver for the children and then later as the morning greeter for the Day Care, welcoming each child with warmth and kindness.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Buford O. Warren; son, George Thomas Warren; father and mother; four brothers, George Skates, III, Herman Skates, William Buddy Skates, Barney Skates; four sisters, Louise S. Womack, Eleanor (Tibby) S. Womack, Ruth S. Hennington, and Ella S. Loftin.

She is survived by her son Buford G. Warren, Sr., and her grandson Buford G. Warren, Jr. (Sundy), granddaughters Windy Jean Warren Collins (Ski), Candice Warren Wimberly (Colt), Nicole Warren Garner (West), along with a host of great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.
