Phyllis Jean Hulsman, age 78, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on April 29, 2023. Jeanne, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on August 23,1944 in Montrose, MS to parents, Nell Black and Jim Black.

Jeanne was the definition of unconditional love and lived her life selflessly for her sons, family, and friends. She brought warmth to everyone's life just knowing she was always there for us and made sure every holiday and life event was more special than we deserved. She was a caring and active member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church and was well respected in the property management business for over 30 years. Whether it was helping struggling tenants or spending time with those on her Meals on Wheels route she "Paid it Forward" throughout her life, the results of which often came around to benefit those close to her. "She loved us more."

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Hulsman and Jason Hulsman; their father, John Hulsman; and Jason's wife Jessica; her grandchildren John Jason Hulsman II, Jude Christian Hulsman and Brittany Nicole Hammill; her great-grandchildren, AnnaLea Nicole McWilliams and Michael Tripp McWilliams III; and her siblings, Charlene Foshee, Bo Black, Gary Black, Ann Davis and Bobbie Black.

She is preceded in death by her son, Baby Johnny; and her parents.

A funeral is scheduled for Thursday May 4, 2023 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, 620 Briarwood Drive, Jackson, MS 39211. Visitation will begin at 10:00am in the Fellowship Hall. Services, officiated by her pastor, Charles Bowdler, will begin in the Sanctuary at 11:00am followed by procession to Cedar Lawn Cemetery for graveside services. Flowers can be sent to Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
