Janice Coutch, 76, gained her angel wings and went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 3, 2019, surrounded by her family, at her home in Utica. The visitation will be at Salem Baptist Church in Learned on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with Service immediately following. Interment will be at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Wright and Ferguson is in charge of arrangements.
Janice was born at Fort Benning, Georgia on August 18, 1942 to the late James Tillman and Ruth Yancey Johns. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Franklin (Frankie) Coutch of 50 years, parents, brother Dudley Johns, and father- and mother-in-law Eugene and Elba Jean Brewer Coutch of Utica.
Janice's father retired from the military, so she, her sisters and brother attended many different schools. She graduated from Central High School in 1961. She attended Hinds Community College.
After marrying Frankie Coutch, they lived in Utica. She worked for many years at the Tax Commission and Oakley Training School. She retired from State Government and enjoyed retirement.
Her family and Salem Baptist Church were her life. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren Forrest Lee and Scarlett Olivia, and enjoyed watching them play sports. They were her life. Janice and her sister's Ann and Jeanie were very close. They loved traveling together everywhere and spending fun times together. She especially enjoyed going to Europe. Her favorites were Paris and England. She enjoyed going on cruises and traveling the U.S.
Janice is survived by her children Wallace Franklin Coutch, Christopher Chad Coutch and daughter-in-law Melanie Biedenharn Coutch, her grandchildren Forrest and Scarlett Coutch, sisters Ann White of Flora and Jeannie Pittman (Bill) of Star, brother-in-law Phil Coutch (Charlotte), sisters-in-law Jeannette Pritchett, Judy Middleton and Wanda Taylor (Larry), numerous nieces and great nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers are: Rustin Pittman, Tanner White, Tyler White, Trace White, Devon Sanders, Zachary Sanders, and Trey James. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers-in-law and nephews Phil Coutch, Philip Coutch, Bill Pittman, William Pittman, Jim White, and Ken Chapman.
