Janet Denise Machost passed peacefully in her sleep August 20, 2020 in Clinton, MS.
Born in Flora, MS, Janet ("Neesie") lived for 58 years under many titles: wife, mom, Ne-Ne, sister, and friend. She also was well-known for being a "second mama" for many. She was a loving, generous person and an amazing cook.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Ellis, Jr.; mother, Gladys Ruth (Richardson) Goode; siblings Charles Hugh Ellis, Myra Diane Purvis, Martha Lynn Lloyd, Dwayne Robert "Buddy" Ellis; and ex-husband, Bernard Jacob Machost, Jr.
She is survived by her 4 children Christina Marie Machost (Dennis A. Harkins, Jr.), Janet Nicole Arnold (James Ronald), Rebecca Jean Whitehead (Kevin Guy), and Bernard Jacob Machost III; 5 grandchildren Tyler Blake Arnold, Max Avery Arnold, Emily Ruth Arnold, Melanie Rose Whitehead, and Myles Edward Whitehead; siblings Elaine Bates, Nona Frost, Penny McElvoy, Charles "Rusty" Ellis; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Janet will be cremated and have a private burial in the Bolton cemetery on I-20 Frontage Rd. Details for the memorial service in Janet's honor will be released by the family at a later date.
