James Dewayne "Wayne" Vance passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the age of 49 while on a fishing trip in south Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife Meredith, and children Elliott, Sydney, and Nelson; his parents Edward "Dippy" and Faye Vance; brother Shannon Vance; and sister Tina McManus (Mark). He is preceded in death by his brothers Trenton, Samuel, and DeSean Vance, and sister Janelle Bayird.

He was born on January 22, 1976 in Monticello, AR. Wayne had a true appreciation for the outdoors and could often be found hunting or fishing. He also found joy in his work where he was able to engage with people on a regular basis, and always managed to find something to share a story or laugh about.  His true pride and joy was his family.  Given the chance, he loved to brag about them.  Words cannot describe this profound loss.  He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who had the pleasure to know him.

The visitation service will be Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 9am to 11am at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home - Clinton, 106 Cynthia Street, Clinton, MS 39056 followed by a graveside at Clinton Cemetery.
