Obituary

James Edward Pulliam, Sr. (Ed) 75 passed away on August 16, 2025 at Martha Coker Green House Homes in Yazoo City, MS. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and the service will be at 11 am.

Ed was born in Meridian, Mississippi. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving grandfather, and a steadfast friend. He lived a life marked by hard work and unwavering devotion to the family he loved and those he considered friends.

After retiring from Riverwood International and working for himself as a Packaging Engineer, Ed spent much of his time doing what he loved — working on and restoring corvettes and old cars. His work was well known and customers came from far and wide to seek his workmanship. He even provided the antique cars for the movies O Brother Where Art Thou and Mississippi Burning.

Ed and his wife, Cheryl, loved to travel and were able to visit many countries around the world. Some were work trips when Ed was called in for his knowledge and expertise on and other trips were for pleasure. They made friends from other countries during their travels and kept in touch with them over the years.

Ed is survived by his wife Cheryl Thames Pulliam, two sons Jamie Pulliam (Tanya) and Greg Pulliam; sisters Rita Norton (Charles) of Duson, LA and Linda Barrett (Mike) of Madison; brother-in-law Don Thames (Jenny) of Sumrall; sisters in-Law Janet Bishoff (Monte) of Florence and Karen Tharp (Greg) of Flora; grandchildren Jessica Pulliam of Brandon, Alexis Pulliam of Pearl and Trey Pulliam (Ravan) of Clinton; great grandchildren: Lawson Moore, Maverick Harbour and Jameson Pulliam; nieces Kim Medley (Creig)  Keely Barrett, Lauren Evans (Justin); Mandy Thames Stanley (Chuck), Blaire Bishoff Henderson (Max) Tara Tharp Jordan (Cooper); nephews Chris Hinton (Melissa) Thomas Norton (Lisa) Brad Thames (Mandy) Tyler Thames (Keshya); and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to thank Traditions Health for the excellent care they provided for Ed during his final days.
