James Patrick "Pat" Nation
August 8, 1943 – December 19, 2025

James Patrick "Pat" Nation passed away in Clinton, Mississippi, on December 19, 2025, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. After celebrating 60 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Betty, on November 7, Pat went peacefully to be with Jesus.

Pat was born on August 8, 1943, in Drew, Mississippi. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith whose life was centered on his family and his relationship with Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Nation; his children, Patrick Nation (Tara) and Brandi Myers (John); his grandchildren, Cale Nation, Connor Nation, Callie Nation, Cooper Myers, Lyla Myers, and Sutton Myers; and his brother, Billy Elmore. He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Nation; his stepfather, Dudley Elmore; his mother, Geraldine Elmore; his sister, Patsy Boehning; and his brother, Mike Elmore.

Pat earned his bachelor's degree from Delta State University and later completed his MBA at the University of Mississippi. Throughout his career, he worked faithfully, guided by integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to providing for his family.

A man of strong faith, Pat was a devoted member of Country Woods Baptist Church, where he was actively involved in church life and service. He had a special heart for missions, particularly Mission Byram, which held deep meaning for him. Pat took great joy in supporting the work of the church and helping meet the needs of others through its mission efforts.

In his later years, few things brought him more happiness than watching his grandchildren participate in their sports and activities.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Country Woods Baptist Church – Mission Byram.

Pat will be remembered for his steady presence, enduring faith, and deep love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
