James Alfred Ishee passed away February 28, 2021 at Baylor All Saint Hospital after a long illness. He was born June 12, 1936 in Meridian Miss.
Jim wanted to be a buried next to his first wife, Linda in Mississippi.
After high school in Meridian, Miss, Jim spent three years in the Army. He was in Okinawa, Japan as a morse code operator for three years. He returned to Miss. and went back to school on the G.I. Bill.
After becoming a professional photographer, he set up an office at the King Edward Hotel in Jackson, Miss. He took photos of many famous people and did ads and weddings. There he met beautiful Linda Burgess and got married.
After a few years, Jim decided to change professions. He went back to school and got hired by General Dynamics today, Lockheed Martin, as an engineer. They moved to Fort Worth, and later lived many years in Dallas. In his late 50's, Jim started losing his vision and had to leave Lockheed Martin. They had many happy years in Dallas, with many good friends and special friends Elisa Fay and husband. Linda passed away in 2002.
A few years later, Jim met and married Bjorg Hatlestad and they had 14 happy years together in Fort Worth. They belonged to the Norwegian Society of Texas and the Elks Lodge and had many good friends over for dinner parties and socials. Jim was very well liked by all. He was kind, smart and often came out with a good joke to make us laugh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Burgess Ishee; parents, James and Maime Ishee; sister, Jane McVay; and a brother, Ralph Ishee; all from Miss.
He is survived by his wife, Bjorg Hatlestad Ishee of Fort Worth; nephew Michael McVay of California; in-laws, Rita and Ron Anderson, Beth and John Burgess and Thomas Burgess, all of Miss.; and special friend, Elisa Faye of Dallas.
In lieu of flowers, Jim's favorite charity was, if you wish to make a donation in his name, make it to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
