James Garland French, 81, passed peacefully at G. V. "Sonny" Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Jackson, MS.  Buddy was his nickname, and he loved his family very much.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and wisdom.  He was a dedicated farmer, who had a  passion for hunting, fishing, loving others, and cooking anything and everything that came to mind.  He  loved his country music and was always trying to keep everyone in line.  He was the toughest man anyone ever would've known, and he fought with his whole heart and soul all the way to the end.

James Garland French was  a loving father to Duston S. French (Hunter) of Byram; Cynthia D. Ray (Cannon) of Wesson; beloved grandfather to his two grandson, Hunter Ray and James Robert French, and granddaughter, Ashlynn K. Ray.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda J. French; his two brothers, Johnny French and Wayne H. French; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James H. French.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS, followed by burial in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home before the service from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.
