James Paul Duke, 36, of Clinton, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2026, following a motorcycle accident.
Born January 3, 1990, Paul was a man who lived life with a big heart, a sharp sense of humor, and an unforgettable presence. He had a way of making people laugh, often with a sarcastic comment or perfectly timed joke, and was truly the life of the party. Wherever Paul was, there was usually laughter, stories, and good times close behind.
Paul was an automotive mechanic by trade and had a genuine passion for anything with an engine. He loved cars, motorcycles, and fishing, but the things he loved most were the people in his life. He was a devoted uncle, a loving brother, and a caring son. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel like they mattered, and he never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need.
Paul will be remembered not only for his humor and larger-than-life personality, but for the kind of friend he was. He had a heart that was bigger than words can describe and was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. His loyalty, generosity, and willingness to show up for the people he loved left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Paul is survived by his mother, Monessa Wadford; his sister, Jade Stolley; his step-siblings, Chris (Sarah) Wadford, Carrie Wadford Nalley, and Jamie (Eric) Brown; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Randy Stolley, and stepfather, Terry Wadford.
Paul leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, friendships, and love that will be carried by all who knew him. Though his time was far too short, the impact he made on the lives around him was anything but small. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 7, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. A second visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, from 10:00–11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
