Obituary

After 98 years of healthy living Jim passed on September 17, 2019 due to a recent series of falls. Jim's wife of 77 years (Mary Lou) passed late last year.
He is survived by his two sons Jerry and Bob.
He had six grandchildren, Amy, Josh, Amber, Anna, Alice and Tim plus seven
great-grandchildren.
Jim attended Drury College on a scholarship before entering the Army Air Corp in WWII.
He had to drop out of pilot training because he was color blind. He therefore spent all of his service years calibrating bombsights in B-17's.
After the war he worked for thirty-one years as a postal clerk while raising his two boys on a small farm and teaching them how to do the things he loved: farming, building, gardening and fishing.
After retirement he taught himself how to invest and spent his golden years traveling in an RV with his beloved Mary Lou. They loved everyone they met and had so many friends. They made their mark of love, simplicity and honesty in so many lives.
Jim set a strong example of Christian faith, honesty, simplicity and a strong work ethic for all to follow.
It could be said that this simple man was a great patriot and had the highest of values.
He grew up reading the Bible cover to cover. He was a capitalist too. He knew the value of this great land and the individual freedom it provides all.
He represented America's best of the greatest generation. Jesus bless this
great man who has just entered eternity. Amen
