James Dewitt (Jimmy) McWilliams, Jr., long-term resident of Jackson/Clinton, MS, departed this life on July 11, 2021.
Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2021, from 9:30-11:00 with service immediately following.
He was son to the late Julia Love and James D. McWilliams, Sr., Born January 8, 1935. He attended Clinton public schools and Mississippi College where he excelled at basketball.
Jimmy served his country in the Philippines during the Korean War. After his service in the Army, he returned to Jackson and started his family and his career as a heavy equipment salesman. He retired in 2000 as Vice President of Equipment Incorporated. He began working with FEMA after Hurricane Katrina devastated the coast of Mississippi and Louisiana. He enjoyed traveling to different areas of the United States helping others that had been hit by disasters. In his spare time, he enjoyed officiating basketball and softball, playing golf, bowling and in his later years an occasional trail ride.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his second wife-Peggy, granddaughter-Anna Marie Allen, grandson-Paul Bryant Webster, and his siblings Richard McWilliams and Virginia Lowery.
He is survived by his four daughters–Millie McWilliams, Marie Allen, Malinda Webster, Mary Kay Walters (Tim Walters), 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
