James V. Allen, 91, of Raymond passed away at home on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm on Friday, November 27, 2015 with services beginning at 2:30 pm, all at Raymond United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Raymond Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was a World War II veteran, retired form Waterways Experiment Station and served as an Alderman for the City of Raymond for 16 years. He was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Ruth Allen and his brother, Jack Connor Allen. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sara "Buddy" Allen; his children, Andy and Jackie Allen; Sara and Keith Angelo; Brenda and Pete Hubbard; Jeff and Ann Allen; his grandchildren, Mark and Jennifer Allen, Laurin Cheek, Jamie and Eric Tucker, Jason and Erin Angelo, Al and Kristin Hubbard, Ken Hubbard and fiancée Leslie Wolverton, Casey and Clayton Pitts, Corey and Robert Aiken, and seven great grandchildren with four more due soon.
