With deepest sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Jacob (Jake) Michael Viera - a most beloved son, brother, boyfriend, family member, and friend - on Thursday, July 2, 2020. Born on September 13, 1999 at Fort Benning, Georgia, he regularly moved with his family, and lived in Georgia, Vermont, Mississippi, and China during his 20 years.

Jake's nomadic lifestyle translated to a homeschool education and a very (very) strong relationship with his immediate family. He shared a love of music with his brother and sister, and could be found spontaneously bursting into song along with them. Jake completed high school in Beijing, China and then attended Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia before attending Hinds Community College in Jackson, Mississippi. At Hinds, he was a part of the soccer team and the Baptist Student Union. Previously, he was involved with numerous church youth groups, Young Life, and RUF. He loved to play the piano or guitar in support of a group's worship of the Lord.

The breadth of Jake's life experiences also meant that he could easily engage with many different people from a diversity of backgrounds. His infectious smile and unique laugh would literally change the dynamics in a room. He was known for his humor and the joy that he exhibited in all of life - and which he sought to share with others throughout the world (literally). All who knew Jake will miss this shining bright-spot in their lives.

Jake will be missed every day by his father, Michael A. Viera, his mother, Andrea J. Viera, his sister, Kyla M. Rallo (Noah), his brothers, Nathan A. Viera, Joshua C. Viera, and Junnan Viera; as well as grandparents, Ruben Viera, Julia Viera, Peter and Julia French, numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He will be especially missed by his best friend and girlfriend ("fiance") Emilia Smith - along with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 106 Cynthia St., Clinton on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 am. There we will celebrate a beautiful, but short life and rejoice in the blessing of the Lord together. A graveside service will be held in Lincoln, Michigan on July 11th where Jake will be interred at the Twin Lakes Graveyard.
