Ira A. Lovett, Jr., 92, went to heaven to be with his wife, Catherine, of over 60 years on September 1, 2016. They had five children together. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 beginning at 9 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond. Interment will be at Raymond Cemetery.
Ira was born on February 4, 1924 and was a resident of Raymond, MS. He attended the MS Institute of Aeronautics. He was a Flying Tiger in World War II and was a prisoner of war for over seven months before escaping. He worked as an electrical engineering supervisor for the General Services Administration for over 40 years.
Ira was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ira Andrew Lovett, Sr. and Emma Cook of Puckett, MS; many siblings and a grandson, Victor Rogers.
Ira is survived his sister, Inez Prine; his children, Wayne, Blane and his wife JoAnn, Cindy, Debi and her husband Tim, and Jamie; his grandchildren, Scott, Chad, Chase, Shayne, Ashley, Tara, Lee, Chris, Alicia and Andrew; and numerous great grandchildren.
