Ina C. Cole, 89, of Clinton, died Monday, March 14, 2016, at Brookdale Senior Living. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton with Dr. Charles Scrivener of Morrison Heights Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Reeves Family Cemetery in Pike County with the Dr. Scrivener officiating.
Mrs. Cole was born December 24, 1926, in McComb, the fifth child of Anthony Glen Cothern and Ethel Terry Cothern. She graduated from McComb High School where she was a class favorite and voted "Cutist." In 1946 she married her high school sweetheart Horace Mark Cole when he returned from active duty with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Together they moved around the state in his long career with Mississippi Power and Light Company. They proudly raised two daughters and were together in marriage for 63 years.
A faithful, active member of Baptist churches in McComb, Greenville, Natchez and Clinton, Ina taught elementary children in Sunday School and served as a leader for Girls' Auxiliary. She loved the company of friends and extended family who grew over her long life in different places. A devoted homemaker, Ina took delight in opening her home to many.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Glen and William, and two sisters Claire Gardner and Doris Summers.
Survivors include two daughters Linda Cole Ogden and her husband Page of Natchez, and Edith Cole Breithaupt and husband Charlie of Petal; four granddaughters Vanessa O. Graham, Valerie O. Seal, Natalie Breithaupt and Leigh Breithaupt; one grandson Eric Breithaupt; and four great-grandchildren Hayden Seal, Olivia and Bennett Graham, and Marshall and Kirkland Breithaupt.
Pallbearers will be David Bishop, Charlie Breithaupt, Eric Breithaupt, Brent Graham, Bobby May, Page Ogden, Matt Seal and Bob White.
