Orville Hoyt Rawson, 86, was born on November 14, 1938, in Leake County, Mississippi, to Mills and Bernice Rawson, and passed away on May 26, 2025, at Hilltop Manor Health and Rehab Center in Union, MS.

He was a truck driver for more than 45 years before his retirement, and he received special recognition for driving a million miles without an accident. He was a faithful member of Flowood Baptist Church until his health no longer permitted him to attend.

Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Telatha Rawson, his daughter Lucinda Rawson, his son Stephen Rawson, and his siblings, Tommy Rawson, Curtis Rawson, and Jane Husbands.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sarah Rawson, daughter-in-law Virginia Rawson, sister-in-law Jane Stephens, and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Flowood Baptist Church, with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
