Obituary

Honey Allen Gray, 83, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M.- 7 P.M. Tuesday, April 5,2022 and again on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M., all at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, Ms. She will be laid to rest at the Raymond Cemetery.

Honey was born February 14, 1939 in Jackson Mississippi. She was a twin, the youngest by four minutes, and the youngest of seven children born to the late A.C. Allen and the late Lona Mae Allen.

Honey attended Central High School and was involved in many clubs, activities, and sports. Even after graduation, she enjoyed staying in contact with classmates and helping to plan several class reunions. After high school, she attended Hinds Junior College, where she was a member of the Hinds High Steppers. Honey was also a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution.

She grew up in Parkway Baptist Church and was an active member until her health declined. Many people have said when they think of Honey, they think of her captivating smile and friendly personality. She was known to light up a room with her bubbly, happy personality and never met stranger.

She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved holidays and always made them special. She was known for her hospitality, her door was always open to friends and neighbors and the coffee was always brewing.

Honey is survived by her daughter Lori ( Rusty) Berry, three grandchildren, Amanda Berry Hearn( Dale), Matthew Berry ( Megan), and Nicholas Berry ( Ashley); eight great-grandchildren, Hollie, Hunter, Holton(Holt), Maggie, James David ( JD), Rileigh, Nora Grace, and Katherine Michael(Kate). She also survived by her twin sister, Barbara Bolger of Florida and sister Dorothy Newman of Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Honey is preceded in death by husband Amos Jack Gray of 61 years of marriage, son, Michael Allen Gray, and four siblings, Ben Johnson, R. B Johnson, Jim Allen, and Gerald Allen.

As a Christ follower, Honey lived by the passage in Proverbs 31:10-12, "God calls on a wife and mother to be a women of strength, courage, and wisdom. She should rely on God through thick and thin and lead her children to a knowledge of His saving grace."
