Herbert Edward Cotton Williams, 84, went home to be with his Lord on October 31, 2013.
He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held at 12:30p.m. on Sunday, November 3rd at the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton,MS. Visitation will begin at 10:30a.m. Interment will be at 3:30p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, MS.


Cotton was born to Hazel and Earl Williams of Thaxton, MS on February 28, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents ,and brother Phillip David Williams. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dot Williams son Mickey Judi Williams of Byram, MS daughter Martha Hopper of Clinton, MS son, Jerry Lucy of Natchez,MS seven granddaughters, and 17 great grandchildren.He also has two brothers, Bobby Jo Williams Nell of Cherokee, AL, and Johnny Williams of Terry, MS.

He retired from Ergon, after 44 years of service, but continued to work in the field of construction until 2012. His hobbies included antique cars, watching Nascar racing, and spending time at the old home place Thaxton, MS. He was a long time member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton, MS. He was also a member of the Antique Vehicle Club of Mississippi.
