Helen B. Jackson, 92, transitioned to her heavenly home Friday, December 4th, 2021, at Plainview Assisted Living, Richland, Mississippi. Visitation is Thursday, December 9th, 2021, at Grace Bible Church on the Parkway, 380 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, Mississippi. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, the memorial service begins at 11:00 AM, and interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church cemetery in Sturgis, Mississippi.
Helen left her home in Altoona, Pennsylvania, at 17 years old to attend Lynchburg General Hospital Nursing School where she earned her RN degree in 1950. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1965 and her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 1973, both from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She taught nursing at Mississippi Baptist Hospital-Gilfoy School of Nursing, Mississippi College, Pensacola Christian College, and University of Mississippi Medical Center. She was instrumental in starting the nursing program at Pensacola Christian College in 1977. Helen retired in 1997 from Mississippi College.
Helen was a long-time member of Grace Bible Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She was known as a woman of strong faith with a heart for missions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, one sister, and husband, Ruben Jackson. She is survived by her children, Linda Crisler (Fariss), Paul Jackson (Donna), David Jackson (Kathy), and John; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
