Heidi S. Pierags' Obituary
On December 29, 2020, Heidi Susanne Pierags, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 75 at her home surrounded by her family.
Heidi was born on March 14, 1945 in Schleswig Germany, to Arnold and Erika Meine. She married Hans Guenter Pierags on July 31, 1964 and they had two daughters, Connie and Claudia. In October of 1971 the family immigrated to America settling in Corinth, MS. Heidi and Guenter completed and received their citizenship in 1980 and often said it was one of their family's proudest accomplishments.
Heidi always had a passion for helping others and in 1973 she began working as a CNA at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth before moving on to Home Health Care and Hospice. Heidi was the recipient of the Mississippi Home Health Aide of the Year Award in1997. She truly loved her job and helping others and frequently went above and beyond to help "her little patients". She was known for her compassionate spirit, her generosity and her beautiful warm smile and no one who ever met Ms Heidi could ever forget her.
Her most treasured role was one of being a mother to her daughters and an Oma to her grandchildren. She had a way of making each and everyone feel special in their own way and had great pride in participating in every school function, sporting event, play, band concert and any and all other events that occurred in her children and grandchildren's lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Guenter in 1986, her brother, Peter and by her parents, Arnold and Erika.
She is survived by her brother, Manfred, her daughters, Connie (Bryan) and Claudia, and her grandchildren Haley (Danny), Jack, Ben and Olivia and her sweet companion of 14 years, Tippy.
Due to Covid-19 a service for immediate family will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, MS at a date to be determined as well as a celebration of Heidi's life.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Center Ridge Baptist Church, PO Box 452, DeKalb, MS 39328.
