Obituary

Harriet Ann Browning Carson, age 73, entered heaven's gate on Thursday, November 14, 2019. She was born December 12, 1945 in Jackson, MS to Harry Jones and Mary (Terrell) Browning. She was a long-time resident of Clinton, MS where she graduated Clinton High School in 1964. She married James D. Carson on June 5, 1970 in Jackson, MS. She worked as an executive secretary to the VA Medical Center in both Jackson, MS and Salisbury, NC for 23 years before retiring. Working with veterans was her passion.

Harriet is survived by her husband, Jim; one son Joshua Carson and his wife Kristina of Prairieville, Louisiana. She has three grandchildren Toby, Bailey, and Adalyn, who were the light of her life; one sister Debbie Scott and her husband Johnny of Florence, Mississippi; brother-in-law's Dewayne Carson and his wife Lila of Lake Park, Georgia, Chris Carson and his wife Marilyn of Saint Amant, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephew that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Pocahontas Baptist Church located at 4200 Kickapoo Road in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation is from 11am – 1pm and the service will follow at 1.
