Hal went to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 29, 2018 surrounded by his family after a long illness.

Hal Trotter Jones Jr. was born on December 28, 1942 to Carolyn and Hal Trotter Jones Sr. of Flora, MS. William E. Hardeman was his stepfather. The town of Flora was named after Hal's great-grandmother, Flora Elizabeth Mann Jones. Hal graduated from Flora High School and later the University of Mississippi where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. While at Ole Miss he participated in ROTC and later served in the Army as a Finance Officer. In 1967 he married the former Jane O'Mara. They would have celebrated their 51st wedding Anniversary on September 2. They have a daughter (Carol) of Jackson Mississippi. He is also survived by his sister, Lenoir Jones Mortimer of Rayville LA.; brother, Sterling Paine Jones (Glenda) of Madison, MS; sister, Sandra Hardeman Jeffcoats (Barney) of Brandon, MS; and many nieces and nephews.

Hal was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he was active in The New Yorkers Sunday School Class and served as an usher. He was associated with Mississippi Group Marketing, P.A. where he was Account Executive. Hal sold Life and Health Insurance for many years. He was President of Mississippi Life Underwriters and was a member of National Health Underwriters (NAHA), Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) of Ole Miss. Stoma Club, Sales and Marketing where he was President. In his early years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a Scout Master. He and Jane enjoyed traveling with their friends whom they met while traveling.

Funeral services will be on Friday August 31, 2018 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am with the service at 11:00am. Burial will be in Flora Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
