H. O. "Hunk" Walker, P. E. (Professional Engineer) passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018. He was born August 11, 1933, son of the late Orell Owen Walker and John Burnell Walker, Sr. and is survived by his wife Sylvia Roberts Walker. He was a graduate of Central High School, Jackson, MS and received a B. S. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University where he was President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and completed post graduate work at Mississippi State University.
Hunk retired as a Colonel from the 186 Tactical Reconnaissance and served his country as a fighter pilot with the United States Air Force/Air National Guard from 1956 to 1984.
He was an engineer with Mississippi Power and Light/Entergy and served his community through many civic and professional organizations including the Optimist Club of Vicksburg, MS, United Way in three cities, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (MS Chapter President) and Illuminating Engineering Society (MS Chapter President).
As a charter member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Byram MS, his family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to his church at 6950 Siwell Road, Byram, MS 39272.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 17, starting at 1 pm followed by the service at 2 pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 106 Cynthia Street, Clinton MS 39056. Burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial, Jackson.
