Gwendolyn Cox Culipher, 94, passed away on April 20, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Bolton, MS with visitation beginning at noon. A graveside service will follow at Cox Family Cemetery in Bolton.

Gwen was born on August 10, 1928 in Bolton, MS to Lowery and May Cox. She graduated college from University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of the Southern Singers, a choral group that performed across the country. She retired from teaching at Central Hinds Academy where she was one of the original teachers when it first opened. Gwen was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for decades. She loved her granddaughter and great grandchildren.

Gwen was preceded in death by husband, Wallace Culipher; her daughter, Amanda Culipher; her parents, Lowery and May Cox; her grandson, Johnathan Johnson; her brothers, Carrol Cox, Fred Cox and James Cox.

She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Allen; her granddaughter, Angie Roth (Jason); and her great grandchildren, Jonah Roth and Savannah Roth.
