Georgia Ann McClain, 86, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 4, 2024.  She was born in Choctaw County, Mississippi, to Charlie Franklin Reed and Henrietta Pierce Reed.  She was a long time resident of Edwards, MS, but spent her last year and a half at Pink Bud Nursing Center in Greenwood, AR.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Curtis McClain; a son, Edward Curtis "Eddie" McClain; three sisters, Winnie Hamilton, Willie Nola "Bill" McComb, and Marie Fulgham; and three brothers, Pvt. Gilbert Odell Reed, Joe Ed "Jake" Reed, and Jimmy V. "Pete" Reed.

Ann was a member of Edwards Baptist Church and the Friendship Club.  She really enjoyed the many trips she took with the ladies from the Hinds County Soil and Water Conservation District.  Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and working in her yard.  Her favorite way to start the morning was with a cup of coffee on her back porch while watching the birds at her assortment of feeders and birdbaths.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Moss (Mell) of Fort Smith, AR; son, Mike McClain (Nancy) of Edwards, MS; three grandchildren, John McClain (Mary) of Houston, TX, Taylor Rivera (Daniel) of Albuquerque, NM, and Curtis McClain (Chen) of Edwards, MS; and the most recent apple of her eye, great granddaughter, Anya McClain.

The family gives special thanks to the wonderful nurses, aides, and all other employees at Pink Bud Nursing Center.  The love they bestowed upon her was beyond measure.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Edwards Baptist Church in Edwards, MS, with burial following in the Edwards Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 201 Hinds Blvd., Raymond, MS  39154.  Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be John McClain, Curtis McClain, Daniel Rivera, Chuck Fulgham, Shannon Fulgham, and Kim Abernathy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Edwards Baptist Church, 101 Magnolia Street, Edwards, MS  39066.
