George Ezekiel Coleman, a long time resident of Jackson, MS, passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2019 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife Shirley A. Coleman, and his children, Guy Wayne Coleman, Kathy Wilkes, Tina Coleman Wilkes, Colleen Cannon, Shawn Coleman, Codie Wilson, and Connie Potvin. He has 29 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. George was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work, and growing a garden, which he shared with everyone he knew. George never met a stranger and would give the shirt off of his own back. George was very active in his local church, Southside Assembly of God, where he served on the security team and as head of the greeters. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, November 3 at Southside Assembly of God, 665 Raymond Road, Jackson, MS 39204. Visitation will be at 2:00 with the service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, George requests that donations be made to Mercy House of Georgetown.
