George Byron "Buddy" Brumfield, age 62, of Raymond, Mississippi, passed away on October 20, 2025, in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Buddy was born on December 5, 1962, to George and Faye Brumfield in Tylertown, Mississippi. He was a curious child with an adventurous spirit who loved spending time on his grandfather's farm, taking tractor rides, and proudly being his grandfather's "buddy."

When his family later moved to Brookhaven, Buddy's path became clear — make as many friends as possible, perform daring tricks on his bike, and always search for a bigger ramp to jump.

At age 13, tragedy struck when Buddy and a friend were hit by a car while riding their bikes. His friend passed away, and Buddy was left in a coma for months. Through sheer determination and the unwavering support of his mother, he learned to walk, talk, and eat again. Though he faced many challenges following his traumatic brain injury, Buddy's humor, courage, and survival instincts never faded.

Buddy found joy in life's simple pleasures — cheering for the New Orleans Saints, watching old television reruns, listening to classic rock and roll, and even serving as an "amateur weatherman." He loved teasing his three sisters, affectionately giving them nicknames like "Bossy," "Know-It-All," and "Swollen Bumblebee" — always looking for a laugh.

His mother, Faye, was truly his person for life. After his father's passing, Buddy became deeply protective of her, and they cared for one another faithfully. She remained by his side until the end.

Buddy is survived by his loving mother, Faye Brumfield; sisters Gwen (Bob), Lisa (Tim), and Angie (Mark); numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Buddy; his special friend Norma Logan; and dear friends Charles and Daty Rochelle. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Dora.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Glen Brumfield.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi.

Buddy will be remembered for his humor, resilience, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him.
