Frances Bethea Dent, 96, passed away on September 7, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Bolton with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Raymond Cemetery.

Frances was born August 8, 1927 outside of Louisville, MS to her parents Carl Belton Bethea and May Beville Bethea. She briefly lived in Starkville before moving to Indianola where she lived until college. She was a graduate of Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus majoring in library science. She became a book mobile driver after moving to Raymond where she eventually met her husband of 63 years, Miller Dent, Jr. They moved to Bolton where they raised their two sons.

Frances enjoyed attending her many ladies clubs including Bolton Methodist Women's and Bolton Garden Club. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the choir for many years. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking for family holidays and get togethers. Her favorite thing to do was reading and spending time with her two grandsons. She was an avid Mississippi State Bulldogs fan attending many football games with her husband Miller in Starkville and Jackson as a season ticket holder.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Miller Dent, Jr.; her son Miller Dent, III; brothers, Joe Bethea and David Bethea; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Bethea.

She is survived by her youngest son, Lee Dent and his son Graham Dent; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Dent, widow of Miller Dent, III and her son Woods Dent; nieces and nephews; Joy Bethea Hughes, Bryan Bethea, Carl Bethea, Keith Bethea, Tim Bethea and Paul Bethea; and many great nieces and nephews.
