Flora Ella McIntire (nee Lynch), 101 years, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021 at her residence in Provident Village, Canton, Georgia.

Flora Ella was born on November 7, 1919 in Carrollton, Missouri to Stuart D. Lynch and Edith Marion Smith. She graduated from Carrollton High School and attended Northwest Missouri College – now university. She married Carl Alfred McIntire, Jr on May 27, 1939. Three sons: Col. Carl A. McIntire, IIl (USAF retired) of Talladega, AL, Dr. Dennis K. McIntire of Canton, GA and Stuart A. McIntire of Boston, MA.

Flora Ella and Carl were well-traveled tour leaders for Brian Tours of Jackson, MS. Mrs. McIntire had visited 54 countries. Three of her favorite trips were to the Holy Land and Egypt where she rode a camel and saw King Tuts tomb. China, where she walked on the Great Wall, and the Oberammergau Passion Play in Germany.

She was a musician: played clarinet in high school, was drum major of the drum and bugle corps, played the piano, handbells and sang alto in choirs. She was active in her church teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, active in Women's Missionary Union and choirs. One of her most favorite things was gardening, both flowers and vegetables.

After her sons graduated and began their careers, she worked for the Baptist Book Store (now Lifeway) in Jackson, MS. She lived in Carrollton, Liberty, Chillicothe, Mexico and Sedalia Missouri, Clinton, MS and Canton, GA.

Presided in death by: her parents, her husband Carl; her brother Dudley and sister Marie

Survived by her three sons and brother Harold of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Mrs. McIntire will be laid to rest beside her husband in Clinton, MS.
Due to the Corona virus, a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
