Flor "Windy"
Tinnin
September 21, 1960 – January 13, 2026
Flor 'Windy' Tinnin, a devoted Catholic and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away in her home in Utica, Mississippi peacefully in her sleep next to her husband on January 13, 2026.
Born on September 21, 1960, in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, Windy was a proud Puerto Rican who carried the vibrant spirit of her heritage wherever she went. She was known for her love of dance, specifically the merengue, often joking that salsa was simply too slow for her.
A dedicated homemaker, Windy considered her family her greatest achievement. She shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Harold Gene Tinnin. Together they raised two sons, Chris Gene Tinnin and Donald Lee Tinnin. She was a doting grandmother to her four grandchildren, Kalel, Kaliyah, Malachi, and Nari Tinnin, all of whom she was immensely proud of.
Windy found peace in nature, spending her time tending to her plants and flowers while listening to the songbirds in her garden. Her generosity was legendary; she loved sharing her plants and personal recipes with others, even strangers. A visit to Windy's home meant you never left hungry, as she delighted in creating elaborate feasts during the holidays and cooking for those she loved.
She was a woman of integrity who never held back how she felt, always reminding those around her to do the right thing. Her honesty, warmth, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A service to honor her life will take place where she always loved to be, home. Dates to be announced.
