Evelyn Higginbotham, 101, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at NHC Healthcare in Mauldin, South Carolina.

Evelyn was born on November 24, 1923, in Puckett Mississippi to the late Burtis and Lila Burnham.

Evelyn had a full and productive life dedicated to her husband, family, friends and church.  Her special ministry was being supportive of her husband, the late Rev. John Higginbotham, a minister in the United Methodist Church.  Her kindness and desire to help others was constant throughout her life, and even in her assisted living home, she was said to be the most popular resident to staff and other residents.  She always showed a genuine interest in everyone else's life and family, and always wanted to lend a helping hand.

Evelyn leaves her son, J. Michael Higginbotham and wife Caroll of Venice, Florida; daughter, Deborah Kirby of Greenville, South Carolina; grandson, Greg Izard and wife, Corrine and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Claire Izard, all of Greenville, South Carolina.  She is also survived by her beloved sister, Betty Tadlock of Raleigh, Mississippi; sisters-in-law Kay Higginbotham and Clara Higginbotham, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, Flowood with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Puckett Cemetery.
