Ezra Eugene Davis, 61, passed away at his home on March 8, 2015. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Hinds Independent Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, and a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Eugene was born on February 19, 1954. He worked at the sewing plant, operated heavy equipment, and was also a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family in his spare time. The creek was his favorite place to go and he always had a garden planted. He spent every day of his life with his family. He taught his son, Kevin, how to love, how to be a good husband and father to his family. He also taught him how to drive trucks and operate heavy equipment.

Mr. Eugene's daughter, Jennifer, considered him to be her best friend. His life revolved around work and wildlife. He always kept some sort of animal at the house, whether it was a deer, a raccoon, or a squirrel. He was a good listener and always gave good advice. He told her to always put God first in everything you do in life.

Mr. Eugene told his daughter, Hannah, that he loved her every day. He enjoyed watching her play basketball, going hunting together, and riding four wheelers. She was his buddy. They shared a very special moment when both of them were baptized together.

Mr. Eugene is survived by his wife, Helen Davis, of 33 years that he loved dearly. He is also survived by his son, Kevin Davis and his wife Breanna Davis; daughter, Jennifer Davis Donald and her husband Wayne Donald; daughter, Hannah Davis; and six grandchildren; Thomas Donald, Braylon Donald, Austin Donald, Lori Davis, Noah Davis, and Madison Davis.
