It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Estes McMath Blackburn, Jr. announce his passing after an extended illness on February 19, 2025 at the age of 86.

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi Estes McMath Blackburn, Jr. was born on February 26, 1938 to Margaret Bynum Blackburn and Dr. Estes McMath Blackburn. He attended St. Andrews Episcopal school and graduated from Murrah High School in 1956. Skippy, as he was called, moved to Los Angeles and attended UCLA School of Dental Technology. After graduation, he returned home to Jackson and in 1961 established Blackburn Dental Laboratory which is still in operation today continuing his legacy.

Skip was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Estes Blackburn, aunt Ruth Blackburn, brother Mark Blackburn and nephew Chris Blackburn.

He is survived by his wife Judy Birch, daughter Allison Ware (Brian) and son Randolph Estes Blackburn (Tonya). He is blessed with 3 grandchildren Reed Williams, Cooper Ware, Sarah Payton Ware and 2 great grandsons Asher and Owen Williams. He is also survived by sister-in-law Marilyn Blackburn and nephews Tim and George Blackburn.

A celebration of Skip's life will be held at Lakeside Presbyterian Church on February 24, 2025 with visitation beginning at 10:30am and a memorial service at 12:30pm. A private burial will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park.
