Elizabeth Ann Statham

May 7, 1941 – April 3, 202

Ann, born on May 7, 1941, in Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

She was the cherished daughter of the late James D. Morris and Alura E. Morris. Ann grew up with her four sisters on the banks of the Mobile Bay, and the locally recognized family business Shellback Fishing Camp.

During her early years, Ann attended school in Daphne Alabama. In 1960 she met and married the love of her life, the late Chester Statham, who was from Holmesville, Mississippi. They began their sixty one year journey in Spanish Fort, Alabama, and later made their home in Clinton, Mississippi, where they raised their three children. Ann was a terrific cook, homemaker, mother and Mawmaw. She was a longtime member of the former St.John's United Methodist Church in Clinton, Mississippi.

Ann is survived by her loving children: Jay Statham (Sandi) of Purvis, Mississippi; Pamala Carmean (Allan) of Clinton, Mississippi; Carol Ann Flynt of Clinton, Mississippi, widow of the late Greg Flynt and bonus daughter Kim Thomason (Page) of Raymond, Mississippi. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Maradik (Jerome) of Crestview, Florida.

Ann also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Shaun Statham of Purvis, Mississippi; TJ Statham of Purvis, Mississippi; Alex Headley (Jennifer) of Petal, Mississippi; Megan Carmean (David) of Brandon, Mississippi; Landon Carmean (Jessica) of Metairie, Louisiana; Laura Beth Puhr (Michael) of Clinton, Mississippi; and Taylor Flynt (Nicole) of Gluckstadt, Mississippi.

Her legacy continues through her beloved great-grandchildren: Gracelyn Statham, Raelyn Statham, Hollyn Statham, and Kate Statham, all of Purvis, Mississippi; Paisley Penna of Brandon Mississippi; Graham Carmean and Emmy Carmean of Metairie, Louisiana; Lainey Puhr of Clinton, Mississippi; and Easton Flynt, Karter Flynt, and Macie Flynt of Gluckstadt, Mississippi along with cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Chester Statham; and her sisters Muriel Strickland, Grace Rivalto, and Nellie Amos.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made to Shriners Hospital.
