Elizabeth Jean "Libby" Richardson Pirie, 89, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Elizabeth was born on August 13, 1932, to Emmett and Trudie Axton Richardson. She attended Flora schools and graduated high school in 1950. She attended Mississippi College and received a bachelor's degree in English and master's degrees in Education and Hospital Management. She worked many years and ultimately retired from Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.

Elizabeth married George C. Pirie on Feb 14, 1959, in Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Trudie, and husband, George.  She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Liz) (Jimmy) Quin, son William (Buddy) (Juanee) Pirie; grandchildren Tabetha (Steven) Lamb, Chad (Gretchen) Quin, Andy (Joanne) Travis, Lacy Travis, and Aaron Pirie; and seven great grandchildren: Jake, Skylar, Alyssa, Caiden, Cori Jo, Jolie, and Ren.

Elizabeth lived in nine different states, due to her husband's military career. She loved traveling to such far off places as Europe, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Korea. Elizabeth was heavily involved in her church, Damascus Baptist Church in Flora MS, and loved Jesus.

Please join us for visitation on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton MS from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by a service at 1:00pm. Burial will be at the Flora City Cemetery.
