Obituary

Born in 1933, Effie Lena Young lived in Natchez, MS until she married the love of her life, Charles Jett, and moved with him to Jackson.

Effie was heavily involved in her church and her five children's activities and became a beloved and respected softball coach. She loved all animals, even caring for young birds who were blown out of their nests. Effie was also her high school's jitterbug champion.

After a long and varied career, she retired from Entergy in 2002.

Effie is survived by her husband of 60 years; her daughters Laura Jett Howard, Tara Jett Symon, and Lydia Jett; and her son, Charles "Chuck" Jett, Jr. Effie was preceded in death by her daughter, Therese Jett.

Her extended family includes sons-in-law   William Howard and Thomas Symon, and daughter-in-law, Heather Miles. Grandchildren include Evan (m. Rachel) Symon, Nicholas Howard, and Tyler Howard.
