Obituary

Edward P. "Kit" Kinsey, Jr. (69) passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Dominics Hospital. After a long battle with respiratory failure, he passed peacefully to a place of complete peace and healing, his family by his side. Kit was the son of Margaret Dobbins Kinsey and Edward P. Kinsey, Sr.. Born in Atlanta on February 9, 1953, Kit spent his early years in Tucker, GA before moving to Jackson at the age of 13.

Kit attended Bailey Jr. High and Callaway High School before graduating from the University of Southern MS where he received his B. S. in Marketing. He spent 10 years working at Sound and Communications before turning to retail management.  In later years he operated his own business specializing in home renovations and small repairs, making life long friends with each endeavor. After retirement he enjoyed time in his shop creating his greatly admired birdhouses.

Kit is survived by his wife, Pam Conerly Kinsey, step daughter Catherine Carter (Jon) all of Jackson, brother Cliff (Dena) of Clinton MS, grandchildren Katie and Owen Carter, nieces Anna Sweatman, Claire Kinsey, Maggie K. Stewart, Shelby Lacey, Elyssa Lambert, Rachel Imamoto, two great nieces and six great nephews. The family offers their grateful appreciation to Dr. Brandon P. Garriga and his assistant Bonney Simmons, as well as the dedicated staff of St. Dominics Hospital, all of whom shared their genuine compassion during this time.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Wells United Methodist Church.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with the service beginning at 12 Noon.  There will be a gathering and fellowship time after the service in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Harbor House, Wellsfest of Wells United Methodist Church, MS Animal Rescue League or Animal Rescue Fund -ARF.
