Edna Earl Rowland Allard, age 95, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024 at her home in Flora, Mississippi.

She was born in Flora, Mississippi, on June 24, 1928, to her parents Erline Stephenson Rowland and Joseph Agustus (Gus) Rowland. After graduating from Flora High School, she went on to study at Belhaven College.

On June 8, 1951, Edna Earl married George Dale Allard, M.D., in Flora, Mississippi. They went on to have four children: Charlotte Allard, George Dale Allard, Jr., Ray Rowland Allard, and Joseph Ray Allard.

She was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church of Flora for over eighty years.  Edna Earl taught Sunday School in the Primary Department of the church for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as tending her garden.

Edna Earl is preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Dale Allard, daughter Charlotte Allard, son Ray R. Allard, brother Joseph Augustus Rowland, Jr. (Betty), sisters-in-law Gertrude Wilson Taylor (Charles), and Jeanette Hastings (Brownlow).

She is survived by her two sons: George Dale Allard, Jr. (Juliana), and Joseph Ray Allard (Cindy); her five grandchildren: Justin Allard (Ashton), Charlotte Johnson (Britt), Logan Allard, Shelby Jones (William) and Houston Allard; and four great-grandchildren: Emma Kate, Audrey, George, and Bailey; as well as sister-in-law Mary Ellen Wheeler.

Services will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi, on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, the donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Flora – Sonshiner Senior Adult Program or Children's Ministry.
