Edna Earle Carmichael passed away on September 3, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home in Brandon, MS. She was born in Kemper County, MS, to the late Azzilee Ball and Littleton Ball on November 21, 1926.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her generosity and love were poured on her family and friends. She loved her church family as well and for many years she was an active member of DeKalb United Methodist Church in Dekalb, MS, and then later an active member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Byram, MS.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanell Holder (Rodney); granddaughters, Tiffany Hutchins (David) and Heather Byas (Evan); great grandchildren, Daniel Hutchins and Claire Hutchins; and numerous nieces and nephews, which include Andy Ball, Ray Dorman, Teresa McPherson, and Cindy Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James Odell Carmichael; her parents, Azzilee Ball and Littleton Ball; brothers, A. J.
Ball, L. M. Ball, L.D. Ball, and Bobby Ball; sisters, Bonnie Roberts, Elizabeth Ball, Francis White, Mary Lynn Hay, Dean Yelverton, and Jean Dorman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, 9:00-10:00 AM at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, MS. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
We want to thank Baptist Hospice, the CNA, the nurses, the chaplain and the social workers for the care they provided to mom during the last two and a half years. Also, a special thank you to Jennifer Jones and Freda Murriel with Southern Health Care who provided care and love.
